Users

Table Of Contents

The Users Tab allows administrators to manage user accounts, controlling the access and permissions assigned to different individuals within a project. This functionality is essential for maintaining a secure and organized environment, ensuring users can only access the views or logs relevant to their roles.

Key Features:

  1. User Permissions:
    • Users can have custom permissions, tailored to their roles and responsibilities.
    • By assigning only necessary access, you can ensure users interact only with the parts of the project essential to their work.
  2. User Groups:
    • Users can be grouped (e.g., “maintenance”), where notifications can be directed to the entire group. For instance, maintenance users could be notified when certain machines enter an ERR state, keeping them informed of critical issues.
  3. Designer Option:
    • When checked, this option grants users designer privileges, allowing them to modify project views, edit features, and take on the role of a project developer.
    • This setting should be applied cautiously, as it gives users control over critical aspects of the project that could affect its core functionality.
  4. Startup Screen:
    • You can assign a startup screen to specific users. Upon login, the user will automatically be forwarded to their assigned startup screen, streamlining the user experience by directing them to their most relevant workspace immediately.

This system of managing user accounts and permissions ensures a secure, efficient, and personalized environment where users can work with only the tools and information necessary for their role.
